A MAN was killed in a crash on a North Yorkshire road last night.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews were called to the A19 Easingwold Bypass between Thirsk and Easingwold at about 7.40pm on Thursday, where a Vauxhall Viva and a motorcycle had collided.

A spokesman said the rider of the motorcycle was killed in the crash, and the driver of the Viva - a 22-year-old man - was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drug driving.
